F. V. Jones better known as Grandpa Jones, father of Mrs. Gus Jones, who lives a few miles northeast of Comanche died Sunday, June 22nd, and his remains were lovingly laid to rest Monday evening in the Tucker cemetery. Grandpa Jones was born in Lester Co. Georgia near Dahlonda, where he grew to manhood. He went through the Civil War doing his duty to become a brave soldier, taking part in all the battles fought by Phillips Legion of Georgia Volunteers, which he entered as a private and was mustered out at the close of the struggle as a 2nd Lieutenant. He later removed to Oklahoma where he lived a number of years, maintaining membership in the Confederate camp of veterans in Ardmore. Mr. Jones was in his 86th year at the time of his demise. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church and lived a life that was prove an inspiration to others in following in the footsteps of the Nazarene. To those who left to mourn his departure of a kind and indulgent father for the Mercy Throne, The Reflex extends sincere condolence.
