Gustave Caillebotte

he single most influential Impressionist figure. Caillebotte, an Impressionist artist himself, was responsible for funding the Impressionist movement by buying his peers artwork at above market values. Upon his death, he left what still stands today as the single largest private collection of Impressionists paintings.
