Starting his campaign to create the ideal Aryan race, on September 12, 1938, German Fuhrer Adolf Hitler publicized his desire for greater political autonomy for Germans in the Sudetenland. Hitler demanded the addition of the region to Nazi Germany for them to escape oppression, though in reality, Hitler used this as a means to take control of Czechoslovakia. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlin attempted to appease Hitler's desires for invasion, though this was only temporarily accomplished when het met with Hitler to secede the Sudetenland to Germany.
