WWII -Army Air Corps - 1941 approx

These were given to me -after my father died in 1994, they were photos from his experiences, in the Army Air corps during the end of WWII, my Father flew photo reconnaissance missions in WWII. I have had them online just a few a Flickr, et I have more ,and I was given some information about the planes by one man, These are P-51Bs or Cs of the 31st Fighter Group. The ship with the 'MX' code was assigned to the 307th Fighter Squadron, while the other with the code 'HL' was from the 308th FS. The stripes on the tail were red... These fellows who flew photo reconnaissance missions in WWII were a brave lot... flying alone and unarmed into enemy territory, with only a fast ship to carry them out of harms way if it found them. Many did not return... too many. A special breed they were... and his request was - Could you please add this to the United States Army Air Forces group? Thanks for sharing this photo with us! ____________ I would love to know much more -
