Mary Jane Jones, was born May 22, 1868 at Knoxville, Tennessee and passed away March 14, 1933, Research Hospital in Kansas City at the age of 63 years, nine months and twenty one days.
She was the daughter of Isaac and Margaret Elizabeth Best and came with her parents to Missouri at the age of ten. In 1933 she united with the Mt Hebron Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was married to Mintie C Jones, April 21, 1895, and two daughter were born to them.
She underwent a major operation March 14, but her system was so debilitated that she failed to rally in spite of all the doctors and her loved one could do for her, and she passed away that night.
She is survived by her husband and the two daughters; Miss Bessie of the home and Mrs. Merlie Bell of Odessa; four brothers, John, Sam, of Mayview; Joe and Henry of Lexington; one sister Mrs. W.L. Christy of Bates City; and uncle Dr. P.M. Best of Kansas City and number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Burial was in the Odessa Cemetery, the pallbearers were Sam Givvs, John Kemple, E.A. Harris, Will Hackey, Will Conrad and John Smith. The flower girls were Lavina Lale, Ocey Smith, Helen Hackely and Pauline Kemple.
