In an amazing turn of events, on Apr. 11, 1951, General Douglas MacArthur was relieved of overall command in Korea.  The move, accomplished by President Harry Truman, was a result of constant disregard for his superiors, and when he criticized American foreign policy, Truman felt the need to take immediate action.
