The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, limiting Presidents to two terms, is ratified.

Following the unprecedented four elected terms of President Franklin Roosevelt, on Feb. 27, 1951, the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution was signed.  This amendment, passed during the Truman Presidency, limited presidents to two terms, with no option for reelection.
