16 Sept. 1926 - May 2000 --A brief Biography

Born to Albert Edward Williams , Son of Agusta Williams of Annapolis , Ann Arundel County of Maryland , Albert Edward & his wife MILDRED GRAY DAVIS of St Thomas , Elgin County , Ontario , Canada , my Father entered this life at Lafayette , Tippecanoe County , Indiana .Sadly , at the time of my Father's Birth little was said to either family of the couple but , my Father had a Twin , Arthur who died at Birth or Died shortly after being Born .

Albert & Mildred were workers at an Auto Assembly Factory , they later removed to Detroit , Michigan , for reasons unknown and they delivered a Daughter , Virginia Joan Williams on 28 December , 1928 .

Al & Mildred were said to be aspiring Jazz Musicians . They reportedly traveled frequently , seeking to enhance their professions as entertainers but , due to the times , with the Great Depression going on , they found work only in the Car assembly plants .

I found only this year (2014-15 ) that Albert Edward in his travels as a performer , had a second family in Baltimore , Maryland , only a short trip from his Home Town of Annapolis , Maryland where he had another wife and 2 children , a Boy & a Girl . Little is known of this family .

In 1934 , Donal Charles & his younger sister , Virginia Joan were given over by their natural parents to a related Family , the McKinney & Bingham family of Elgin County and York County ( Toronto ) , Ontario , Canada .

THe children were raised in a respected and welcoming family although , Donald Charles was returned to Michigan and was raised by the McKinney family ( 1st cousins ) of Snover-Decker , Michigan .

My Father returned , briefly , to Toronto to seek permission of his adoptive Father , Charles Benson Bingham to enlist into the US Army as WW II was still going on against Japan .

Donald Charles again crossed the Border into New York State at Buffalo where he enlisted into the then US Army Air Force where he resumed his education and became a Registered Male Nurse .

Donald was going to ask to be assigned to an Air Base in Hawaii but , unknown events occurred and he soon found himself on vacation in New Hampshire at a Resort very cose to the White Mountains at Meredith , NH where he met Doris Marie Johnson , my Mother , who hailed from North Quincy , Mass. --They Married about Thanksgiving 1946 only a few months after they first met . Children soon followed with my 2 older sisters in June 1947 , I was born Nov 2, 1949 , and 2 younger daughters , one in January 1950 and the last Dtr in August 1951 .

My Father , Donald Charles soon was assigned to Okinawa , Japan about 1954-1957 , we stayed at home in Quincy , Mass. --In the following years , Donald Charles went to Germany , back to Japan , to Vietnam in the early 1960's with an Advisory Team and then he returned to Vietnam on the Front Lines with a Ranger Division , at least twice more until he was returned to the USA badly wounded .

Donald Charles retired in 1973 at Fort McPherson , Atlanta , Georgia and took up residence there in Doraville , and later went to College , studied Criminal Justice , was assigned to the Main Prison at Gainsville , Florida & eventually was assigned to a Pre-Release Work farm / Camp in Berrydale , Florida , NE of Pensacola where he served until he again retired ---My father , Donald Charles relocated , again , to a small home in the midst of a huge Farm in Jay , Florida where became Diabetic , gained too much weight after retiring and found himself becoming Ill too often --He died in May 2000 at the VA Hospital in Biloxi , Mississippi and is interred at a Baptist Cemetery in nearby Alabama

Donald C Bingham
