On Feb. 13, 1965, President Lyndon Johnson approved Operation Rolling Thunder, one of the most aggressive offensive air campaigns against North Vietnam in the entire war. It became the most intense attacks in the Cold War, compared to that of the bombardment of Germany during World War Two.
