Uncle Ken lived on his "Blueberry Farm" with his wife Helen in Dresden, Maine. I remember working their during summers. He taught me how to drive his Farmall tractor and I was able to use his mower to keep the fields nice. Boy was that a treat. The hard part was I had to clear all of the string from the fields first. That is how they make the lanes for the blueberry rakers.

It was a good time in my life. Just driving the tractor I thought I should be paying him, instead of him paying me. I always took home berries and my Grandmother, Elsie, (Ken's sister) would make pies for me. Always the sweetest part of a long hot work day with a BIG glass of milk and a slice of blueberry pie, berries picked just hours before.
