The Family line of Walter C Cookman

This is the Family information provided by Walter's youngest daughter, Maureen;

 My mother ( Cleo Elizabeth Hurd) dated Harold once and that is when she first met my dad when she went to his house.  My mom didn't see my dad again until the summer in Clear Lake after Harold had passed away.  She was a Phys Ed teacher in Mason City and was teaching swimming lessons in Clear Lake. They dated and were married on June 14th 1947. My dad was working for a Dry Cleaners. Later they bought Lustre Cleaners and they ran it together for years. They had four girls, Mary Janaan born 3-8-1948, Cheryl Ann born 3-31-1949, Luann Marie born 6-014 1953 and me ( Maureen Elise) born 12-6-1954. All four girls reside in Iowa with Cheryl having a winter home in Arizona.   My father died 5-7-1998. They have 7 granddaughters and four grandsons. My mother has now 15 great grandchildren with one more on the way.

     My son Brian was a Sgt. crew chief with the Black Hawks from the Iowa National Guard.  He has had two tours one being in Iraq for 18 months.  He just got out last month.  We are very proud of him.  (Written by Walter's proud daughter, Maureen)
