Quote from research done by Dr. C.C. Kennedy as it appeared in the Cleburne County Historical Journal: "... at age forty-seven, Henry Blankenship and his nineteen year old son Leander (called Lee) joined up with the Confederacy. They were in Co I, 47 Arkansas Cavalry Regiment (Cranndall's), commanded by Brig. Gen. M. Jeff Thomas. They, and others from the Quitman area (Cleburne County Arkansas) ...more
