He missed the Battle of Trenton!

My ancestor, William Thornberry was a member of the 11th Regiment of the Virginia Militia but he deserted Valley Forge on the 23rd of December 1776, two days before the Battle of Trenton. More info at www.myrevolutionarywar.com/states/va-11.htm
