John Jewel taken Prisoner 1780 held at Old Suger House New York
John Jewel Born June 17, 1746 at Manor of Cortlandt, Westchester, New York and died December 3, 1838. In the fall of 1780, he was taken prisoner by British and confined at the Old Surger House in New York for 7 weeks then exchanged.
