WWII Airmen Shot Down, Caught in an Avalanche and Captured by Germans
Shot down over France, the crew met up with the French resistance and tried to hike over the Pyrenees. 1 Airman and 4 French guides were killed in an avalanche. The survivors became lost and were turned over to the Germans by French police.
