Report of conditions on the Clear Fork of the Brazos, Sept. 1862
Settlers on the western frontier of Texas faced a different sort of battle during the Civil War. This is a report from outside the "line of protection," describing Indian raids that might force abandonment of farms, ranches, and cattle.
