Teddy Roosevelts Confederate Uncles & Cousin
James D. Bulloch was a brother to T.R.'s mother. James Jr. his son. Irvine was a half-brother. Teddy ran his manuscript for The Naval War of 1812 by his "Uncle Jimmie;" he also seems to have encouraged his uncle to write down his experiences. From that "collaboration," we have two classics--- Roosevelt's history of the naval war of 1812, and James D. Bulloch's The Secret Service of the Confederate States in Europe.
