Letter from Brigham Young, April 12, 1866

This letter goes with a file under Brasfield [Blank], which is a telegram to Fort Leavenworth. Young explains the position of the Mormon church on the events leading up to the murder of Squire Brassfield who had married the second wife of a Mormon missionary named Hill. Those details are in the telegram, as well as her appeal for military protection. At the time of Brassfield's death it appears that she was asking for custody of her children.
