Empire Wold

British Government ship, Empire Wold was a 268 GRT tug which was built by John Crown & Sons Ltd, Sunderland. Launched on 24 March 1942 and completed in June 1942. British records claim that she was torpedoed on 13 November 1942 by U-300. German records do not claim her as a kill. Believed to have foundered at 64°08N 22°38W while attempting to assist Shirvan, which had been torpedoed and was later sunk by U-300
