Private letters of John C. Breckinridge, from his wife, Mary Cyrene Burch Breckinridge
An amazing set of letters from Mary Breckinridge to her husband, Confederate Brigadier General John C. Breckinridge, former U.S. vice president, senator, and candidate for President in the 1860 election. Included in the set is a note written on the inside of an envelope. Since Kentucky never seceded and was soon in federal control, Mary Breckinridge tried to be as close to her husband's command as possible. Great resource!
