Report of inspection of posts at Beaumont and Sabine, Texas, November 2, 1864
The inspection report states that the posts are low on food and fuel, at least partially because needy soldiers' families are being allowed to buy from the commissary. Reports on repair of fort, number and caliber of guns, and amount of ammunition. Also requests additional slave labor for various projects.
