A Middle Spelling Found

My great x's many grandfather John George Bager from Germany (I visited his German home this past September) changed name from Bager to Baugher. What I or anyone else doing genealogy in many lines of our Baugher family (in many states today) know that there was a variation of our name before Baugher took place. In this document the name was Bauger and no H in the name. I am taking into account that maybe this was a type-O and will look else where to confirm.
