Thomas Jefferson feelings about Benedict Arnold

Thomas Jefferson called Benedict Arnold a "parricide" which meant he considered him to be someone who killed a member of his own immediate family (like a father, mother, or sibling). Now, he was commanding troops for the enemy!

Benedict Arnold was a Hero at the Battle of Saratoga, his military service was exemplary and most courageous. He was badly served by his commanders, and foolishly and out of spite went to the British. Shame on Thomas Jefferson!
