John Whitmore - Medal of Honor Recipient Civil War - 119th IL Infantry

John Whitmore is my husband's GG-Grandfather and is a Medal of Honor Recipient. The reason this is unusual is that most of the MOH recipients were officers, so to h ave this honor bestowed upon him meant that he was conspicuously valiant.
