Mary S. Lowry was born in Mississippi daughter of Calvin A. & Elizabeth [Pickens?] Lowry. She was the wife of Abraham Tyson Shipman and bore him 11 children. Mary, Abraham and several infants are buried at New Salem Cemetery in Fannin Co., TX
