Virginia Artillery Battalion Change
This company subsequently became Captain S. Taylor Martin's Battery Virginia Artillery. The 12th Battalion Virginia Light Artillery was organized by S.O.No.112, A.&I.G.O., dated May 15, 1862, with four companies, A to D. The battalion organization was dissolved by S.O.No.8, A.&I.G.O., dated January 11, 1865, and the two companies of which it was then composed became independent batteries of Virginia light artillery.
