BAKER, Levi S. 1856 residence and more

Baker Levi S., 107 W. Madison, Vt. [from Vermont], 9y [9 years in the city]. Chicago City Directory 1856, page 11. Note: this puts Levi S. Baker in the city of Chicago in 1847, the year of his marriage there to Lucetta Smith. Also, this is a new home, in the South Dist. (c. 2 blocks S. of courthouse). In 1860 directory (p. 24), 107 W. is on the north side of W. Madison between S. Dearborn and S. Clark. Also, the 1911 street number changes show old 107 W. became new 62 W. Madison.
