BAKER, Levi S. 1871 North Baptist Church

This is the pre-fire church to which Levi S. Baker belonged. It was destroyed in the fire and not re-built. After the fiire many of the congregation worshiped at Imanuel Baptist which became Central Baptist. See A. T. Andreas' "History of Chicago" and the Chicago Tribune and city directories of the period.
