The estate inventory of Andrew Stewart, filed 13 Jun 1787, contains the following notation made 8 Jun 1786 " a Negro Wench belonging to the same estate named Nanny sent to the West Indies for sale for her misbehaviour pr Captain John Ashton, the said Captain Ashton sold the Wench, but made no Returns of her nor I don't know what money she was sold for."
