Edward Brown, Former Slave of William Middleton, Beaufort, SC, 1874

In his Southern Claims Cdated ommission Application, 15 Jun 1874, Edward Brown states that he was formerly enslaved by William Middleton. He left the Middleton plantation in Bueafort, SC and joined the United States Colored Troops.
