R-34 Dirigible Beings First Round Trip Transatlantic Flight
In July of 1919 the British dirigible R-34, piloted by Major George H. Scott became the first aircraft to complete a round trip transatlantic flight. It flew from Scotland to New York in 108 hours (the first east to west crossing of the Atlantic) and then back to England in 75 hours.
