Admiral Robert B. Carney
Adm. Carney, served on Adm. Bull Halsey's staff immediately after Pearl Harbor and later was on the battle planning staff of Gen. Douglas MacArthur and participated in the planning of the Battle of Leyte Gulf. After the war he was commander in chief of NATO forces in Southern Europe. The end of his career he served as Chief of Naval Operations under Pres. Eisenhower.
