Civil War-"The Capture of New Orleans"- The Chicago Tribune May 12, 1862
On April 24th 17 Union ships under Commodore Farragut moved up the Mississippi to take New Orleans. On May 12th, 1862 this account was given in The Chicago Tribune as to the details surrounding the capture.
