    Thank you for posting your family member's story. From the timeline, it appears that Lt. Gould and my grandfather were in Stalag Luft 3 together. From the national archives I found that my granddad, Cpl. Robert Howe, was taken POW on February 17, 1943. He was liberated with Lt. Gould, in April of 1945.
