  • Samuel Evans might have a middle name that begins with an S. Very little information on him!!! Born between 1796-1800 in Virginia according to his age in the 1840-1870 census records. He married Mary (maiden name unknown). They had 6 children that I am aware of. They were all born in Wythe County, Virginia although there are no birth records.   • Full name David Henry EVANS. HIs name in the 1860 census looks like Daniel or a very loosely written David. I am not sure why they would put Daniel except his older brother, Daniel, is listed above. David was born 20 May 1840.   • Full name is William Steven. I am not sure where the J. came from that is on the 1860 census. He was born 25 September 1859 to Joseph Daniel EVANS and Ursula (maiden name WELCH) in Beaverdam, Grayson County, Virginia. He was a twin and the other baby boy died at birth.   • Full name is Joseph Daniel EVANS. He was born 16 December 1836 in Wythe County, Virginia to Samuel and Mary (unknown maiden name) EVANS. He married Ursula WELCH 13 October 1857 in Ashe County, North Carolina.   • The census has her listed as Mary. Her real name is Ursula (maiden name WELCH). I am not sure why they list Mary but her mother-in-law who was living next door was Mary. Ursula was born abt 1836 to Daniel WELCH and unknown mother. Marriage and children information under husband--Daniel EVANS. After Daniel died she married Alfred BEDWELL, 26 March 1871.
