My father was a US Army Technical Sergeant, 3rd Grade during the Occupation of Japan. After graduating from the Military Intelligence Service's Language School, he was assigned to Gen. Eichelberger's 8th Army, G-2, Military Intelligence Service.

While serving in the top secret Military Intelligence Service, Sgt. James Yoshinobu, fighting in his second world war at 47 years of age, was awarded the Silver Star while fighting alongside the 4th Marines on Iwo Jima.

Doreston "John" Johnson passed away in Long Beach, CA on February 29, 2012. He was a honorable man and good neighbor. He was buried with full military honors on March 15, 2012 at the Riverside National Cemetery.
