This Historic Photo was taken at Chu Lai, Viet Nam on June 1, 1965. This is the First Aircraft to land at the newly constructed SATS airstrip. The Aircraft belongs to Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 225. The Aircraft type is an A4C Skyhawk. The Naval BU # is 147779. The Pilot is Col. John Noble, CO of MAG 12.

This Picture is not of a A4E Aircraft of VMA 311. The Photo was taken at Chu Lai of an A4C Aircraft and I suspect the Squadron is VMA 225
