Eula Ruth Shafer Miller is the daughter of Ezekiel and (Lilly) Myrtle Lynch Shafer, and Mother of Kathryn Ann (Miller) Coughlin.

Their singularity of purpose as signatories to that great Declaration created The Revolution that made us the greatest Republic ever created. We salute Presidents Jefferson and Adams for their accomplishments.

Ezekiel Shafer is my Grandfather, married to Myrtle (Lynch) Shafer. Both are buried at Teays Hill Cemetery, St Albans, WV.

The Yancy Bailey Spencer born in 1929 is Yancy Bailey Spencer, Jr. This Yancy was born November 4, 1929. He is the father of Yancy Bailey Spencer III, of surfing fame of Pensacola, Florida.

Myrtle Shafer, (widow of Ezekiel who d. 1921), was in West Virginia with our Grandfather when he died. She did not go to Cincinnati with Roy and Eula until Mom (Eula) graduated from St Albans Hi in the Class of 1928. Then she went to Ohio. She was in Roane Co, WV, during the time Ezekiel was in California, per the 1910 Census. The Shaver/Shafer Dougherty/Daugherty Book by Harvey E Shaffer on Page 167 is incorrect. He was in Orland, California in 1910 and then returned to Charleston. He died April 29, 1921in Charleston from what was probably blood poisoning or infection after appendix surgery. I possess a letter from Myrtle to her Lynch family that gives his last two days. Myrtle (Grandmother says 'he fought hard to hang on'. But nowhere is a death certificate for our Grandfather, Ezekiel. If, according to the book, Eula Ruth (Shafer) Miller, my Mother graduated from the Cincinatti Conservatory of Music (Bachelor of Music) in 1910, she would have been 1 year old. Mother,(d. This is my Grandfather. He was employed by the Navy, a civilian, at Newport News and later by the Department of Interior, U S Reclamation Service. He was a 'typewriter' which seems strange to us, and took Shorthand.
