Fallon, NV – Gregory J. Sheaffer, 48, of 4623 Edwards Lane, Fallon, NV died at 11:14 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at Banner Churchill Community Hospital. Born June 25, 1963, in Harrisburg, PA he was the son of the late, Robert A. and Sharon Sadler. His wife, Sonya (Wirrick) Sheaffer, whom he married Sept 13, 1997, survives. Also surviving is a son, Charles M. Custer and wife Stacey, of Twentynine Palms, CA. and one grandchild, Gabriel A. Custer. In addition to his parents, a sister and a brother preceded him in death. He was a 1982 graduate of Lewistown Area High School, a 1988 graduate of University of California, Berkeley and a 2010 graduate of Canterbury University earning his MBA in Project Management. He was a decorated United States Marine Corps veteran honorably discharged in 1987. Greg was employed for 14 years as Service and Project Coordinator for SECCO Home Services of Camp Hill, PA. He was employed with Glaxco-Kline for the last 17 years as Regional Distribution and Project Manager out of Fallon. Greg was a member of the National Wildlife Federation and the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed bowling, cooking, movies and time with his grandson in his leisure time. He was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Gardens Funeral Home, Fallon, NV with the Rev. Tom Smegal officiating. Interment will be in Holtzer Veteran’s Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donation may be made on his behalf to the American Cancer Society. ...more
