Anna also suffered from the genetic blindness her mother and siblings suffered from. She and Ingred were close. Anna lived in Yreka, CA with her daughter Loretta.

Arthur S Ecklund
great uncle

Arthur was my mother, Patricia Henry Loofbourows' uncle and her mother, Ingred Bertha Othelia Ecklund Henrys' brother. All the children and their mother Erin suffered from a genetic blindness. Ingred did not have this disease. Their father was a commercial fisherman and accidently drowned in 1912.

Lee Loofbourow

Lee Thorpe Loofbourow is the brother of my father Thomas Richard Loofbourow. Uncle Lee was a musician who was was a member of the Portland Oregon symphony. When World War 2 broke out he enlisted in the US Navy and served under Admiral Halsey. He was self employed after the military and was a watch repairman and shared an antique store with his sister Betty Loofbourow Kimball.

Mary L Stevens

Mary Layton Loofbourow Stevens is Flora Loofbourow Hoffs' and John Thorpe "Jack" Loofbourows' mother. During the Alaska Gold rush, Mary took Flora and John to Tacoma, left them with several friends and proceeded to spend 2 years in Alaska. During her absence, Flora had several jobs suck as clothes cleaning, house cleaning and cooking. She was 11 years old. John at the time called Johnnie, worked a street corner selling newspapers. He told me he had to fight for his corner every morning. John was under 5 ft high, and 10 years old. Grandad John told me he resented his mothers absence and referred to her as having "mined the miners" as she returned with enough money to take care of them for many years. No one knows who "Stevens" is in her last name. he was never mentioned. Mary had several sisters, Jessie is one and they are from Grants Pass Oregon. The family were successful gold miners.

John Hoff worked for Union Pacific Railroad until he retired. He was able to get my father, Thomas R Loofbourow SR a job with Union Pacific where he worked for 5 years until he moved the family to Washington State.

Flora B Hoff
Great-Aunt

Great Aunt Flora is married to Kent Hoff. They had one child, John Hoff. During the Columbus day storm my father was worried about Flora and Kent, so we drove the several blocks during the storm to their house only to find Uncle Kent in his rocking chair, smoking his pipe, and Aunt Flora cooking in her fireplace, Uncle Kent retrieved her old cast iron spider, kettles, and was cooking dinner. she had already made muffins and we ate the best meal, all cooked in perfect pioneer fashion!
