About lafamiglia
Genealogy has always been a passion of mine and trying to trace my family lineage in Italy has been a challenge for me and a very rewarding and exciting experience. My family immigrated from Sicily and Italy between 1886 and 1922 most of them settling in New York, Brooklyn, California, Staten Island and New Jersey. When the New York ports closed some of my family immigrated to Argentina and still live there today. They came from Sicily, Castellammare del Golfo, Piana Degli Albanesei a province of Palermo, Villafrati, Castelmezzano the Province of Potenza in the Basilicata Region, and Laurenzana, just to name a few Surnames I'm researching: Asiolo, Bologna, Brancato, Calagna, Caleca, Caltabellotta, Cassara, Castiglione, Catalano, Cestaro, Colletti, D'Urso, Favorito, Fusco, Guarino, Guidera, Iula, Iulo, Lombino, Lomonte, Longo, Masi, Mione, Mule`, Nigro, Patti, Pellettiere, Pellettieri, Pirrello, Romano, Sangiorgio, Santoro, Schiro, Scolaro, Stellino, Tartamella, Tosco, Troccola
