  • Yes, it was Ringgold, GA. It seems that he died on July 6, 1862 when the train he and his fellow soldiers (Newnan Artillary} "came in collision with a heavy train of empty freight cars". They were traveling from Atlanta to Chattanooga.

  • Documents state that the date of his death was not reported. I found a newspaper article that he was killed in an accident on "the state road". Article was found in the Macon Tri-Weekly Telegraph, July 12, 1862 edition. Titled: The Accident of the State Road. It may have happened in Ringold, GA
