    Thank you for all of this information. George Custer is a distant cousin. His wife, Rachel Rhoads who then married William Thomas, is a distant cousin of my husband's, and somehow, after nearly 100 years, the Custer/Kester branches ended up together again in Columbia County, PA! I am now looking for the parents of Griffith Thomas who settled in Juniata County, PA before 1790.
