Based on the "flowery" phrasing of that era, the representative was probably stating that it was his "honor" to represent the widow of a soldier.

Descendants have been looking for this since at least the 1930s. I've sent 3 times myself for this info to be told it couldn't be found. Thank you isn't enough! Making sure that these precious family documents are made available is so important to every American.
