Elmer Sylvester Decker lived with members of his mother's (Lois Ann Whitmarsh) in Iowa. He married but deserted his family in Iowa and moved to Nebraska where he died in 1940. His father had joined the Union Army and did not return although he was not killed. He evidently deserted but returned to his home town of Avoca married and raised a second son. It is not known where his mother or his younger brother Carl H Decker went or lived. Judd was a Quartermaster (navigator) in the Navy during WW II. He served on the USS Minneapolis CA36 during WWII. The ship was stationed at Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec 1941 but was at sea for gunnery practice at the time of the attack.

Phyllis was my first cousin. I did not connect with her until the last few years of her life. She was very helpful with family information so I could have a better picture of her part of the family. Her mother was my father's sister.

George is probalby the son or the brother of Jacob Reed, same town, same occupation, born 1788. Jacob's father is unknown at this time.
