This record is for James William Groover. He was born in Bulloch Co, GA on March 5th, 1827. Enlisted October 25th, 1862 at Camp Young in Savannah, GA. Fought in the Siege of Vicksburg and Battle of Chickamauga. He was wounded in the left hand at the Battle of Chickamauga and thereafter could not perform regular duty. He was then sent to serve at a hospital in Macon, GA to help nurse the sick ...more
