I remember Reg thinking that his birthday being on a long weekend was a good excuse for a Party and in over 30 years we only missed maybe 2 or 3. In fact Reg thought that just about anything was a good excuse for a Party. I think that Gene passed on to the next generation. I remember Ranfurly tinnies, Home Brew by the barrel, very unique dancing moves, stubbies year round, bare feet year round, long list of personalised 'sayings' and responses. Ane he could always (or almost always) manage to find a way to make something, fix something, adapt something or dream up some solution even when there weren't the right materials or tools to do it with. xx
