One year ago today my mother left this world. My world will never again be the same. I asked my mother once when I was having a problem with one of my kids if she ever had a problem with me and she said no I can not think of one thing you ever did that caused me a problem. Now if anyone knows me.....we know that could not be true. I do remember answering her back one time and she asked me if I thought I was one of my cousins and then knocked me into the middle of next week. She really had the spirit of Christmas

I remember one Christmas when my brother John called my Dad to ask if he could come and put a Big Wheels bike together for John John. It was 10 o'clock at night but we came over any way. John said he was going out and would be back soon. My father worked so hard to get that stupid thing together and it was not finished until 3 in the morning and John walked in just as he was done. Then he said Oh I see you got in done. My dad told him John this is the last time you will talk me into doing something like this. The next time you can pay someone at the store to do it. I remember my mother telling me at Christmas time that my uncle Liam used to say he wished he could be a millionaire but only at Christmas so he could give presents to all the children just to see their faces light up.

John was my brother. He was the first person I seen when I woke up in the hospital many years ago. Sadly it was the last place I seen him which was the hospice where we had to take him in his final days. He has produced beautiful children and grandchildren.

Today is my mother's birthday. She did not make it to 93. She lived a long life but always missed New York. I love her and miss her more than I ever thought I would.

The day my sister Margaret died on my birthday 6 years ago was the hardest day of my life. When my sister Lil called I already knew it was not good news. The truth is we were never close. The opposite is true for myself and Margaret. She was John's twin but my favorite sister and best friend in the world. I woke up that morning and at 10 o clock in the morning it was my birthday and I didn't have a care in the world. Rachel had brought me balloons and Frank had gone out to buy me breakfast from Mc Donald's just a lazy day was all I wanted. We would go out for dinner later that night. Frank went to the store with Rachel and came back in cell phone in hand and when I heard him say okay Lil I will let you talk to her now. It was not going to be good news. When they told me what there was a car accident and she did not make it. I went outside and a feeling of being so far away from her came over me along with a feeling of I have no one now......no one that I could tell everything that worried me, everything that made me happy, things I needed prayer for. She was more than a sister, sometimes more like a mother, even though I had a great mother. There was nothing I could not tell her. Needless to say by 3 o clock in the afternoon it was not my birthday any more and I thought I would never ever want to celebrate another birthday. I am also very close to my brother Bill who said to me that it is a gift to me that she died on my birthday. God showed me immediately what that meant. I had always wanted to be her twin and it didn't happen at birth but it happened that day. We will always be remembered together on that day. This memory page for Margaret is a healing place for me. So if any one has a memory of her feel free to post it. This is open to all, not just family. I love you Margaret. Wish I had more pictures with you but your smile will be enough.
