The one thing that makes me smile when I think of him is how he loved to joke around. I remember him hanging Heather up with a coat hanger, and the family vacations we went on (the white mountains). he also loved to take us girls skating and drove us there in his truck that had a camper cap on it and in the back he had a stove and while us girls skated he would make home made hot cocoa for us in the back of the truck. He would also drive us to the beach durnig a thunderstorm so we could watch the lighting out of the camper window above the cab of the truck. He also was a big prankster he would fill a bucket of water and somehow get it to sit ontop of a door while it was open and con Brent Ladd into opening the door all the way and the bucket would fall on Brent. You woul think after a couple times Brent wouldn't fall for it but he did. He also taught hunter saftey and I remember loading a beebee riffle and shooting out a light oh man was he mad, but dad being dad he yelled then laughed saying nice shot but you need to hit the targets. ...more

The night my dad passed away him andI got into an heated fight and we both said things we really didn't mean but I was 14 and it was the age thing. So I left that night to go babysitting and at around 10pm I felt real strange so I called home and no one answered. Soon the parents I was babysitting for came home around 10:30 and I asked them to bring me home right away, so they did when I walked in I remember seeing mom looking at me with tears in her eyes she started to tell me what had happened but I told her I already knew. I had, had a bad feeling something was wrong. I went up stairs and all the rooms were closed but mom and dads so I went in and thats when I saw uncle Joe he was crying and told me to go down stairs but I just couldn't so one of the officers took me down stairs and soon after they brought daddy down on a stretcher and placed him in the herse. Then all the girls came down stairs and were asking tons of questions that mom just didn't know how to answer. That was friday night. On monday I went to school and had his wake that afternoon. I remember going to the wake with my best friend Tracy Valimont and while there we went to find the rest room but found the inbalming room instead, let me tell you I didn't hit one single stair I ran out of there so fast that no one knew what happened. both Tracy and I walked home and when we got back to Storer St. we started to rough house and we tore my dress. Mom was so mad but all she could do is laugh, the next day was his funeral and I was suppose to meet a sister I never met, but she told someone she never wanted to meet me or have me look for her. I really don't know what happened after dads death our close family became torn. Lorna moved in with Aunt Cindy, Dawn moved out and for me I stayed for a short time but then moved in with Angel Monk.
