I found this soldier under the name of Joseph Bergdoll in James H. Mundy, Second to None (Scarborough, Me.: Harp Publications, 1992). This soldier was found on www.ancestry.com under the name of Joseph Berdoll. He was wounded in an arm on May 27, 1862, at the battle of Hanover Court House, Virginia.
